How we build an integration that lasts

What happens if an API changes?
It happens, and the integration is built for it. We monitor the other side's change notices, the integration logs deviations instead of silently stopping, and we adapt the code in time. If we are your technical partner that is part of the ongoing work.
Can you integrate a system without an API?
Usually. Older systems can normally export and import files on a schedule, or we can read directly from the database. Less elegant than an API but it works in practice, and we build the integration so it can switch to an API if the system gets one later.
How long does an integration take?
A simple connection takes a few weeks from start to production. Several systems, data cleaning and real-time requirements make it longer. What usually takes time is getting access to test environments and keys from the other side, so we ask for that on day one.
Do we need a new system or is an integration enough?
